Harry Safe Howard was born at Dublin on 12 August 1886 and served in France with the Yorkshire Light Infantry from 1 November 1914. He was commisioned on 9 May 1915, also being 'mentioned' by War's end (London Gazette 1 January 1918, refers). He lived at 17 Frederick Road, Cheam, Surrey and latterly became a Permanent Civil Servant, being a Board of Trade Examiner and also listed in 1939 as a Departmental A.R.P. Officer. He died on 8 April 1950.
