Would have been a comrade of Lance-Corporal Rambahadur Limbu, also of the 2nd Battalion, 10th Gurkha Rifles, who received the Victoria Cross for his actions in the Battle of Bau in Sarawak, Borneo during Operation Claret, which was carried out against Indonesian-held Kalimantan.
