General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp, Iraq (D-11698 Pte. A. L. Lyons. 7-D.Gds.), overall very fine

Abraham Lawrence Lyons was born in 1903, the son of Abraham and Beatrice Lyons. He enlisted as a Musician while still underage and served with the B.E.F. from 24 September 1918-13 December 1918. Later posted to Mesopotamia on 20 November 1919 he served here during the 1920 Iraq Revolt.

He was discharged as being no longer physically fit for service but re-attested with the Tank Corps using the number 390378. Lyons does not appear to have remained in the military however as his name appears in connection with a series of arrests made for housebreaking in London. He is noted as having died on 7 October 1929; sold together with typed research as well as a copied attestation and Calendar of Prisoner's entry.
