(x) Victory Medal 1914-19 (16080 Pte. W. Goodchild. G. Gds.), slight edge knocks, overall very fine

William Goodchild was born at Holloway, North London in 1890, the son of William and Elizabeth Goodchild of Enfield, Essex. He served with the 2nd Battalion, Grenadier Guards and entered the war in France on 23 November 1914. Goodchild was mortally wounded and died on 4 October 1916, being buried in the Abbeville Communal Cemetery Extension.
