(x) 1914-15 Star (15970 Pte. W. Jones. Glouc: R.), good very fine

William Jones enlisted with the Gloucestershire Regiment on 16 November 1914 and entered the war in France on 20 September 1915 with the 1st Battalion. Later transferred first to the 7th Battalion then the 12th Battalion. Jones was finally invalided from the 8th Battalion on 21 June 1918 as a result of sickness, earning the silver war badge as a result.
