Bock was a dominant force in New Zealand stamp production for over half a century from the mid-1870's until 1931 and Cousins the only New Zealander ever to defined himself specifically as an 'engraver of the postage stamp die' as he did in the 1894 Wellington Almanack.
Cook Islands 1902 group of the Torea bird design comprising ½d. green, 2d. brown (watermark inverted), 6d. purple (watermark inverted) and 1/- carmine, each in an unmounted mint block of four and 1903 (Sept.) cover sent Registered to India and bearing Torea ½d. pair and 2d. in combination with 1d. Queen Makea tied by Cook Islands double-ring datestamps; a fine group. S.G. 31, 34, 36-37 etc.
