William Rose Bock and Alfred Ernest Cousins
Bock was a dominant force in New Zealand stamp production for over half a century from the mid-1870's until 1931 and Cousins the only New Zealander ever to defined himself specifically as an 'engraver of the postage stamp die' as he did in the 1894 Wellington Almanack.
Samoa 1895-1900 perf. 11 range of mint values to 2/6d. incluidng shades and 2/6d. purple vertical strip of three from the lower left corner of the sheet, the upper pair variety imperforate between, 1898-99 surcharges and 1899-1900 'Provisional Government' overprints on 6d. and 1/-; S.G. 57-64, 64ba, £600+

Note: The imperforate betwee item is Ex Baillie. Odenweller states that a total of 48 pairs with this variety were produced. (The Stamps and Postal History of Nineteenth Century Samoa, P. 147)
