William Rose Bock and Alfred Ernest Cousins
Bock was a dominant force in New Zealand stamp production for over half a century from the mid-1870's until 1931 and Cousins the only New Zealander ever to defined himself specifically as an 'engraver of the postage stamp die' as he did in the 1894 Wellington Almanack.
Tonga 1892 progressive die proof in black on wove paper by Cousins for the central portrait of King George I, and completed die proofs for the 2d. (2) in grey and rose, 8d. (3) in brown, blue and mauve and the 1/- (2) in brown and grey-black; fine (8 items)
