Postal History
1842, Charles Dickens signed cover, franked by two 1d reds, tied by black Maltese Cross cancellations, "1 Granville" and red "Too Late" handstamps struck on front, Stratford (Oct 21) and Great Malvern (Oct 25) backstamps, to Captain Granville, the original address in Dickens' hand crossed-out and re-addressed to Barnard's Green, Great Malvern, Worcestershire, with clear signature of Dickens at lower left, horizontal file fold through stamps and faults to back flap clear of postmarks and of no importance given the scarcity and visual appeal of this desirable cover.
