Anne (1702-1714), Post-Union, Shilling, 1709, third draped bust left, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, reading I IIB for HIB, seven strings to harp, obliquely milled edge, 6.05g, 6h (cf. Bull 1402; cf. ESC 1154 the error not noted in either; Spink 3610), the error [?] not listed in ESC or Bull, a small flaw in fourth quarter, otherwise light cabinet tone overlying cartwheel lustrous fields, superbly struck up on hair, a wholesome extremely fine, a truly splendid Shilling!
