Charles II (1660-1685), Shilling, 1681, A over A, and L over I in CAROLVS, second laureate and draped bust right, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, six strings to harp, obliquely milled edge, 5.94g, 6h (Bull 553 [R3]; ESC 1061; Spink 3375), lightly toned, good fine, very rare
Bull 553 notes the L over I, as on this coin, and he also notes A over A, which is not visible here but can clearly be seen on the following lot. Also he gives 4[?] strings, but here the six strings are very clear.
