(g) Netherlands, Commemorative Trade Ducat, 1817-2017, 'Bicentennial Restrike of the 1817 Ducat', Royal Dutch Mint, edge obliquely milled, .983 Fine, 3.49g, 12h, light fingermarks in otherwise brilliant fields, much as issued

The Earl of Leicester's Ordinance of 1586 during the Dutch Wars of Succession prompted the introduction of the now world-famous Dutch Trade Ducat. Until the Napoleonic occupation of Holland in 1808, these coins were struck almost every year. Following Waterloo, the coinage was retarriffed with a reduced fineness and weight, the first specie of this type being struck in 1817. In 2017, the Royal Dutch Mint celebrated the Bicentenary of this issue by producing this and faithful Double Ducat restrikes for collectors.
