Victoria (1837-1901), Queen Victoria 'Golden Jubilee' (Masonic Breast Jewel) Medal, 1887, designed by Sir Albert Woods, struck in gold and silver-gilt, with '13th June 1887' bar for attendees at the Grand Lodge Especial Meeting, crowned and draped bust right within beaded border, surrounded by laurel wreath, VRI cypher below, bust surmounted by star and jewelled crown, rev. .ALBERT EDWARD PRINCE OF WALES C.M . JUNE 21-1887, Prince of Wales' plumes; on original ribbon with bar, the face stippled and dated '1837-1887', second bar inscribed '13TH JUNE 1887', 'SS' below (Harris 212a), one small pin mark to the field surrounding the portrait, some surface wear to the star and crown, otherwise the enamel and ribbon fully intact, with a proof-like quality to the obverse and reverse fields of oval central medallion, extremely fine, with pin for wear and in presentation box in good order
The Prince of Wales was Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of England from 1874 until his accession as King Edward VII in 1901. The medal was designed by Sir Albert Woods.
