Edward the Confessor (1042-1066), 'Expanding Cross' Type, Light Coinage, Penny, 1050-1053, Exeter, Wulfmær, diademed and draped bust left, sceptre before, rev. + PVLFMÆR ON EXSEE, expanding cross, 1.03g, 3h (SCBI -; EMC 2022.???? this coin; North 820; BMC V; Spink 1176), slight furling to flan, otherwise lightly toned and handsomely struck up, a pleasingly good very fine, evidently an extremely rare type for the moneyer with none represented on SCBI or EMC prior to this single-find discovery
