(x) NGC MS64 | William III (1694-1702), Crown, 1696 OCTAVO, third laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, straight breast plate, rev. crowned shields cruciform, six strings to early harp, nine billets, lettered edge upwards, 6h (Pywell-Phillips -; Bull 1004; ESC 94; Spink 3472), small spots and the usual reverse die flaw in otherwise sublimely toned and cartwheel lustrous fields, a stunning example of this 'Great Recoinage' issue, virtually as struck, in NGC holder, deservedly graded MS64 (Cert. #2821613-001)
