Lot of three coins of Alexander III "The Great", 336-323BC ; ( I ) AR Tetradrachm, Youthful Heracles wearing the pelt of the Nemean lion right, rev Zeus, draped at the waist, enthroned left, eagle perching on outstretched right arm; sceptre in left hand, ALEXANDROU to right, Griffin to left, Assos mint, 16.98g, (Price 2225 (Phokaia)) almost imperceptible porosity over coin surface, beautifully toned, and well struck in high relief on a broad flan. gEF ; ( II ) AR Drachm, Youthful head of Heracles right, rev Zeus enthroned left, draped around waist, eagle perched on right arm, sceptre in left, ornamental prow in lower left field, 4.23g, (S/6730.var)Worn, with reddish deposits in low relief areas, test cut at 12:00 to edge, cleaned, G ; ( III ) Victorian brass copy of an Alexander III tetradrachm. 14.69g.
