Auction: 22107 - Spink Numismatic e-Circular 17: Part I - A Gentleman's Collection of Crowns, Halfcrowns and Florins - e-Auction
Lot: 1060

George I (1714-27), Shilling, 1723, second laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, WCC below, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, plumes and CC in angles, seven strings to harp, milled edge, 5.92g, 6h (Bull 1592-R2; ESC 1180; S.3650), fine, rare

Bull notes 'mixed sized lettering on the reverse' which is very true here. There is the usual slanting colon between A:TH, but the T is over something (another T?) and the H is clearly two Is with a crossbar added so weakly it can only be seen with difficulty.
