George II (1727-1760), Maundy Pennies (16), 1729, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, stop after GRATIA, rev. crowned value, date above, 6h (Bull 1817; ESC 2331), flecked and toned, the 2 re-entered, very fine, scarce; another, 1731, similar, 6h (Bull 1820; ESC 2332), light olive-grey tone overlying lustre, a delightful little coin, almost extremely fine; additionally, 1735, similar, rev. larger crown, date divided, 6h (Bull 1823; ESC 2334), darkly toned, good very fine; and, 1740 (2), as last, 6h; 6h (Bull 1826; ESC 2338), one rubbed with a pastille-gray tone, very fine, the other, slightly bruised, otherwise lustrous, a pleasing extremely fine; and, 1743, 7h (Bull 1827; ESC 2339), pierced and clipped, fair; 1746 over 3, 6h (Bull 1830; ESC 2341), lightly wiped on obverse, otherwise lustrous, a really bold very fine; another, 1750, 6h (Bull 1831; ESC 2342), darkly toned and lustrous, near extremely fine; and, 1752 over 0, 6h (Bull 1833; ESC 2344), some scuffing by date and evidence of cleaning to reverse, the overdate otherwise clear, very fine, scarce; also, 1755, colon after GRATIA:, 6h (Bull 1837; ESC 2347), a scratch behind bust, otherwise lustrous and colourfully toned, near extremely fine; 1756, Large Date, colon after GRATIA:, 6h; 6h (2), lightly wiped and lustrous and toned, almost extremely fine; the other toned, very fine; 1757 Large Date, colon after GRATIA:, 6h (Bull 1839a; ESC 2349), lightly toned and lustrous, good very fine; 1758, Small Date, stop after GRATIA, 6h (Bull 1840; ESC 2350), lustrous and darkly toned, good very fine; and, 1759, no colon after GRATIA, 6h (Bull - [cf. 1841]; ESC 2351), some light surface marks, lustrous and darker tone, a pleasing very fine; lastly, 1760, 6h (Bull 1842; ESC 2352), lustrous and lightly toned, a really good very fine; an interesting group (16)
