George II (1727-1760), 'Old Head' Shillings, 1750-1758 (5), 1750 (3), Small Date, 'Thin 0', old laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, angles plain, eight strings to harp, edge obliquely milled, 5.90g, 6h, lightly cleaned, rubbed and toned, fine; another, 5.90g, 6h (Bull 1729; ESC 1210), adjustment marks to date, rubbed, toned, fair; another, 'Wide 0, 1750 over 46', as first, rev. seven strings, seven hearts, 5.87g, 6h (Bull 1732; ESC 1211), smoothed and tooled, cleaned with a scratch in fourth quarter, but the overdate the clearest and most compelling this cataloguer has seen for the 1750 'over 46' variety, good; additionally, 1751, similar, rev. eight strings, seven hearts, 5.90g, 6h (Bull 1753 [R3]; ESC 1212), heavily tooled around date, cleaned with some hairlines in fields and further flawing, struck details fine, the date rare but questionable; lastly, 1758, as first, rev. eight strings, 6h (Bull 1734; ESC 1213; Spink 3704), lightly cleaned but residually lustrous, a bolder very fine (5)
