George II (1727-1760), 'Roses' Crown, 1739 DVODECIMO, young laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, roses in angles, nine strings in harp, small lettered edge upwards, 29.98g, 6h (Pywell-Phillips 310; Bull 1665; ESC 122; Spink 3687), highly polished and now darkly retoned, the eye unscrupulously re=engraved, otherwise struck details a bolder very fine, the reverse especially so
