George I (1714-1727), 'Plain' Shillings (6), 1720 (5), first, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. descending colon between A•.TH, crowned shields cruciform, plain angles, seven strings, 5.79g, 6h, lightly toned, near fine; another, similar, seven strings, 5.55g, 5h, rubbed and bright, poor; also, similar, rev. normal colon between A : TH, seven strings, 5.50g, 5h, rubbed and cleaned, very poor; another, rev. single stop between A•TH, seven strings, 5.89g, 6h (Pywell-Phillips 272; Bull 1572; ESC 1168), rubbed on obverse, lightly toned, fair / fine; lastly, O over G in GEORGIVS, rev. large O in date, larger lettering on reverse, six strings, 5.62g, 5h (Bull 1573/1574; ESC 1169), rubbed and toned, about good, the die sinker's error clear; additionally, 1721, as first, rev. six strings, 5.74g, 5h (Bull 1575 [R4]; ESC 1170; Spink 3646), removed from a three clasp mount with damage by E or Georgius, BR and FD, polished and superficially scuffed surfaces, otherwise struck details good to fine, in lamentable state, but very rare (6)
