William III (1694-1702), Great Recoinage, Norwich, Sixpences (10), 1696 (3), first laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. large crowned shields cruciform, early harp with three strings, nine billets, obliquely milled edge, 3.00g, 6h, clashed dies, cleaned and lightly porous, otherwise struck details about very fine, scarce; another, three strings, eight billets, 2.90g, 5h (Bull 1288; ESC 1538; Spink 3524), rubbed and waterworn, good; also, small crowns, late harp with four strings, seven billets, 2.74g, 6h (Bull 1289 [R3]; ESC 1549), slightly bent with pockmarks in third quarter, otherwise pastille-grey tone, only fair but very rare; additionally, 1697, first bust, small crowns, late harp, all with stop after BR, but not after FRA (7), six strings, six billets, 2.91g, 6h, poor; four strings, six billets, 2.75g, 7h, scuffed, rubbed, fair; and, five strings, six billets, 2.88g, 6h, rubbed, good; another, six strings, seven billets, 2.94g, 6h (Bull 1290; ESC 1561), once cleaned and retoned, scuffed, fair; another, the revers illegible except date, 2.44g, 6h, poor; additionally, reading GVLIEMVS (sic) in error (2), four strings, six billets, 2.84g, 6h, scruffy and flawed, about good, rare; another, four strings, six [?] billets, 2.78g, 6h (Bull 1293 [R3]; ESC 1561C; Spink 3535), scratches around Lion of Nassau, otherwise waterworn, fair, rare; an interesting academic assemblage, largely in indifferent grades but with some important rarities (10)
