Charles II (1660-1685), Shilling, 1672, second laureate and draped bust right, rev. stop after HIB, crowned shields cruciform, six strings to harp, edge obliquely milled, 5.49g, 6h (Pywell-Phillips 61; Bull 521, six strings not noted; ESC 1036; Spink 3375) a significant and obtrusive metal flaw on reverse, otherwise cabinet toned, a bolder fine / almost very fine, a surprising and underappreciated scarcity of the Shilling series
