Charles II (1660-1685), 'Plume' Shilling, 1671, second laureate and draped bust right, plume below, rev. crowned shields cruciform, edge obliquely milled, 5.52g, 6h (Pywell-Phillips 60; Bull 520 [R2]; ESC 1035; Spink 3376) centres struck flat and at best mediocre, nevertheless rare, the first year of issue with Plumes to signify the supply of bullion from Welsh mines
