Charles II (1660-1685), 'Rose' Crowns, 1662 (2), CAROLVS • II • DEI • GRA •, first laureate and draped bust right, stop above, ties between AR, rose below, rev. crowned shields cruciform, stop after HIB, seven strings to harp, closely spaced undated edge downwards, 29.52g, 6h (Broad [1981] AA.1; Bull 340; ESC 15A; Spink 3350); another, similar, ties to A, rev. F over E in FRA, six strings to harp, 1662 on edge upwards, 29.35g, 6h (Broad [1981] AB.1 ~ not noted by him with this edge; Bull 344 var.; ESC 17 var.; Spink 3351), both rubbed, the first slightly pitted, both fair to almost fine, the second with a die-sinker's error unknown to Bull (2)
