John Travers Radcliff was born in December 1924 and enlisted at Johannesburg in October 1943. He was seconded to the Royal Navy Eastern Fleet from 1 December 1943 and served aboard Redoubt off India, Burma and Ceylon until 9 June 1944 and then the Assegai from 10-26 June 1944. He served in the United Kingdom from 12 August-16 October 1944 and thence aboard M.L. 455 until 10 December 1945, the Service Record noting 'Atlantic'. Although he applied for a Campaign Star to reflect this, he was issued with these five Medals on 5 November 1958. His next of kin was his father J. Radcliff of Wilmount Kells, County Meath, Ireland; sold together with copied Service Record.
