Bert Charles Brooks served with the 7th Hussars during the Great War and was still with this unit when awarded his campaign Pair. Later going on to serve with the Auxiliary Force (India) as a Sergeant-Major and settling in India where he saw service with the Surma Valley Light Horse, it was here that he was awarded his L.S. & G.C.
