India General Service 1908-35, 1 clasp, Waziristan 1921-24 (342765. L.A.C. G. Savage. R.A.F.), edge bruise, contact marks, very fine

George Savage was born in Hampshire on 10 October 1899. He worked as a Motor Driver prior to enlisting, he served as a Temporary Sergeant with the number 52186. Later joining the Royal Air Force at Uxbridge on 16 August 1920 with the rank of Aircraftman Class II. Joining No. 3 Squadron in India on 7 December he was transferred before the Squadron disbanded again to No. 27 Squadron on 31 March 1921. Promoted Aircraftman Class I on 21 January 1922, Savage was briefly reposted to No. 28 Squadron on 28 March 1922 but re-joined No. 27 Squadron on 11 May. Re-mustering as a Fitter Driver the next year on 3 May 1923 he remained in this role with career with No. 27 Squadron being promoted Leading Aircraftman on 1 January 1924. Transferring to the Reserve on 16 August 1926, Savage was discharged on 15 August 1932; sold together with copied medal rolls and service records.
