National Fire Brigades Union Long Service, silver, officially numbered '1559', mounted as worn, very fine

Awarded to William Roberts who served in the Rhyl Fire Brigade. He qualified for his Medal in August 1917, it being issued on 1 March 1918. Roberts also served with the 8th Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers and died of heat stroke on 23 July 1917, being buried in the Baghdad War Cemetery.
