Richard Caton Woodville (1856-1927), artist and illustrator for the Illustrated London News.

A good pair of engravings of two of his most famous drawings, the first depicts 'The Absent Minded Beggar' with a vignette of a soldier lying prone below, signed in pencil 'R. Caton Woodville'; the second a naval rating of H.M.S. Terrible with a vignette of a young naval officer below, signed in pencil by both C. Caton Woodville and Rudyard Kipling.

In contemporary oak frames, 510mm x 690mm, some foxing, gilt edging on first worn, otherwise in good condition for immediate display
