Air Force Cross, G.VI.R., the reverse officially dated '1942', with Second Award Bar, the reverse officially dated '1946', good very fine, in its Royal Mint case of issue

Attributed to Wing Commander Patrick Vaughan Williams. The only other recipient of this date combination to the Air Force Cross was Wing Commander Oswald Victor Holmes.

A.F.C. London Gazette 1 January 1942.

Second Award Bar to A.F.C. London Gazette 1 January 1946.

Williams was first decorated for his work as Chief Flying Instructor and was awarded the Second Award Bar as Chief Test Pilot on the Mosquito V1 production.
