Charles Taylor served with the Essex Yeomanry in France from 30 November 1914 and was killed in action on 14 May 1915, being commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. The previous day they had gone into action at Frezenburg Ridge, costing no less than 161 casualties killed, wounded and missing. For further details, please see:
