Algernon Bruce Roberts, a native of Meppershall, Shefford, Bedfordshire, was born in 1899 and served in France with the 2nd Battalion, Grenadier Guards from 20 October 1915. He was killed in action at Lesboeufs on 25 September 1916 and is commemorated upon the Thiepval Memorial.
