A well-documented 'Danish Resistance' group of four awarded to Captain H. Adler-Jensen, Royal Danish Navy, latterly a prominent member of Danish society in London

Harry Adler-Jensen was born on 4 February 1916 at Skive, the son of Marius Jensen, a bicycle dealer. He served in the Danish Navy from 1937 and was a Coast Lieutenant in the Middelgrunsfortet upon the German invasion on 9 April 1940. Jensen latterly joined the Danish Resistance and is understood to have been wounded during 'a sabotage action' (his obituary, refers). Having been evacuated from Denmark, he took work at the offices of the Royal Copenhagen porcelain shop in London in 1944, whilst being advanced Captain in the Danish Navy in 1945.

After the Second World War he remained in London and became a key player in Scandinavian society in London, sitting as Chairman of the Danish Church Councils and also as Hon. Secretary of the Scandinavian Benevolent Society.

Sold together with a good original archive including:

Silver cigarette case, dated 1938 and awarded for revolver shooting.

(ii)
Two silver Danish Navy drinking cups, together with a later bronze table Medal.

(iii)
A selection of official Warrants and Documents related to his service in the Danish Navy and later civilian operations.

(iv)
A selection of photographs, besdies typed biography using extracts from various sources.
