James Tomlinson was born in Nottingham in 1892, the son of John and Charlotte Tomlinson of Northgate, Pontefract. Enlisting in Nottingham he served with ‘A’ Battery, 152nd Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. Tomlinson was killed in action on 31 March 1917 and is buried at Roclincourt Military Cemetery; sold together with copied research including Commonwealth War Graves details and M.I.C.
