Edmund Davies, listed as Edmond in the Soldier's Who Died in the Great War record, was born at Barry, Glamorgan, in 1898 the son of Edward Davies, 12 Paddock Place, Cadoxton. Enlisting with the Royal Artillery Davies entered the war in France and was killed in action on 23 December 1916. He is buried in the Combles Communal Cemetery.
