(x) Queen's South Africa 1899-1902, 2 clasps, Cape Colony, Wittebergen (13481 Pte C. M. West. R.A.M.C.), minor contact wear, very fine
Cecil Maxe West was born at Retford, Nottinghamshire in 1867. Upon the outbreak of the Second Boer War, West enlisted with the Royal Army Medical Corps on 5 March 1900, arriving in South Africa on 17 March. Whilst there he was imprisoned for drunkenness on 28 October 1901 and confined for 7 days. Returning to duty, he was discharged on 23 May 1902; sold together with copied service records and medal rolls.
