1/- pale green, die 2 on 1856 (31 Oct.) blue envelope to Philadelphia bearing vertical strip of four, vertical strip of three and single cancelled by "466" numerals of Liverpool, tied by handstruck "96" in red and New York paid c.d.s. (13.11) and a manuscript rate mark in red ink; the adhesives have generally good margins though typically cut into in a couple of places and a long thread split affects two of the stamps; some soiling. A good 8/- franking. Photo
