The Remarkable "Ellerby Area" Hoard of English Gold Coins (1610-1727) | NGC AU53 | George I (1714-1727), Guinea, 1727, fifth laureate head right, nose to space between R and E in REX, rev. crowned shields cruciform, seven strings to harp, five hearts to Hanoverian shield, edge obliquely milled, 8.34g [128.7grns], 6h (PAS: YORYM-18E848 = BM 2019 T668/264 this coin; MCE 263; Farey 710; EGC 529; Spink 3633), minute radiating die flaw through obverse legend from 9 to 12 o'clock and rub to hairline, otherwise residually lustrous, very fine, the reverse better still, and the ultimate TPQ dating evidence for this astonishing trove, with NGC 'Ellerby' Certification, graded AU53 (#6380983-264)
