The Remarkable "Ellerby Area" Hoard of English Gold Coins (1610-1727) | NGC AU53 | George I (1714-1727), Guinea, 1721, fourth laureate head right, nose to B in HIB, rev. crowned shields cruciform, seven strings to harp, three hearts to Hanoverian shield, edge obliquely milled, 8.31g [128.2grns], 5h (PAS: YORYM-18E848 = BM 2019 T668/239 this coin; MCE 253; Farey 650; EGC 514; Spink 3631), a hint of friction across original fields, a scratch before brow and softness of strike to hairline, otherwise a bright but pleasing very fine, the reverse better still, with NGC 'Ellerby' Certification, graded AU53 (#6380983-239)
