The Remarkable "Ellerby Area" Hoard of English Gold Coins (1610-1727) | NGC AU55 | George I (1714-1727), Guinea, 1720, fourth laureate head right, nose to B in HIB, H formed of two I punches and a cross bar, rev. H over crown in S R I A TH, crowned shields cruciform, eight strings to harp, six hearts to Hanoverian shield, edge obliquely milled, 8.38g [129.3grns], 5h (PAS: YORYM-18E848 = BM 2019 T668/234 this coin; MCE 252; Farey 640; EGC 512; Spink 3631), a hairline die flaw through date, otherwise a lovely example, handsomely uniform for strike and accentuated by much original playful lustre a really good very fine, with NGC 'Ellerby' Certification, graded AU55 (#6380983-234)
