The Remarkable "Ellerby Area" Hoard of English Gold Coins (1610-1727) | NGC XF45 | George I (1714-1727), Guinea, 1715, third laureate head right, rev. crowned shields cruciform, eight strings to harp, seven hearts to Hanoverian shield, edge obliquely milled, 8.35g [128.9grns], 5h (PAS: YORYM-18E848 = BM 2019 T668/184 this coin; MCE 247; Farey 595; EGC 504; Spink 3630), some adjustment across Garter star, and with copper toning spots above head, a hint of friction in bright but lustrous fields, a notably balanced and uniform strike, a thoroughly pleasing and bold very fine, with NGC 'Ellerby' Certification, graded XF45 (#6380983-192)
