The Remarkable "Ellerby Area" Hoard of English Gold Coins (1610-1727) | Charles II (1660-1685), Guinea, 1676, 'descended 6' in date, fourth laureate head right, rev. no stop after HIB, crowned shields cruciform, emblem-adorned sceptres in angles, five strings to harp, edge obliquely milled, 8.31g [128.2grns], 6h (PAS: YORYM-18E848 = BM 2019 T668/84 this coin; MCE 74; Farey 170; EGC 253; Spink 3344), lightly flecked on head and a hint of extraction friction, otherwise residually lustrous across honest original fields, a pleasingly good fine and almost very fine in most parts, with NGC 'Ellerby' Certification (#6380983-084)
