From the beginning of the BMA period stamps and postal stationery were always in short supply as the number of letters increased month by month and supplies from the printers were delayed.
1946 (29 July) locally addressed pre-war "On Johore Government Service" envelope (228x100mm.) bearing 1c. to $5 set of fifteen with additional 1c. and 10c. shades, all tied by "johore bahru/1" double-ring d.s. and showing provisional registration label, fine. Photo

Note: This extraordinary envelope was created by Major Hamburger, a philatelist, but despite its philatelic nature it highlights the situation on 29 January 1946 when as he has noted "only day of complete issue"
