1945 (17 Sept.) locally addressed envelope showing "singapore/f" double-ring d.s.; (24 Sept.) home made envelope to India showing previously unrecorded straight-line "kuala pilah" with "sep 24 1945" d.s. alongside and Censor label and handstamp at left; and (28 Sept.) to Kukop showing "pontian/Johore" double-ring d.s. (Type D3). A fine trio of early covers

Note: Postal services started on 17 September in Singapore Island and S. Johore. The free service started in Penang on 26 September when the post office re-opened, in Kedah it was probably a day or two later. The service commenced everywhere else as soon as news was received by postmasters
