1875 (8 Jan.) envelope from Philippolis to Carlsberg, bearing 1868-94 6d. rose (faulty at top), in combination with Cape of Good Hope 1d. red, both tied by "10" in oval of bars, showing Colesberg (9.1) arrival c.d.s. with despatch datestamp. Photo
Note: The usual postage requirement for mail addressed to the Cape Colony was 4d. but Colesberg was close to the Free State border and there was an agreement that Cape stamps were not needed on mail addressed to this town.
