4d. dull red with good to large margins, neatly tied by Barred Numeral "1" on 1857 (27 July) envelope from Melbourne to Creswick and showing despatch and arrival datestamps on reverse; 4d. dull rose (earliest recorded date of use) and 2d. pale lilac, both tied by Barred Numeral "1" on 1857 (12 Aug.) envelope from Melbourne to Dublin, marked "By Royal Charter" and showing Paid Liverpool Ship tombstone transit d.s. in red; 4d. dull rose with just clear to good margins, tied by unclear Barred Numeral on 1857 (3 Nov.) envelope to Cheswick; and 4d. dull red with small to good margins, tied by Barred Numeral on 1857 (24 Dec.) envelope from Ballarat to Creswick, bearing and showing despatch and arrival datestamps on reverse.
