RA, in a delicate light shade tied by superb upright ruby Maltese Cross of Aberdeen to printed entire to Ellon marked "2" denoting cash payment alongside discernible "paid at/aberdeen" boxed h.s. in red and "aberdeen/jul 6/1840" boxed d.s. in black on reverse; the charge mark and d.s. then deleted and the entire sent again to the same addressee, this time paid with the 2d. adhesive and with "aberdeen/se 19/1840" boxed d.s. in black on reverse. Repaired tear affecting the reverse of the cover only and minor foxing though neither of which detract from this rare and most attractive entire letter. Spec. D1uf, £12,000
