1850 (13 Oct.) entire from London to a rifle brigade soldier in Canterbury, franked 1841-53 1d. red-brown, touched at places, forwarded to the same soldier in the Isle of Wight and with "1" handstamp to pay the charge (the handstamp unrecorded by Willcocks & Jay), sent on to the military agent in London and charged 2d. payable on delivery with the "1" handstamp deleted; a variety of datestamps on front and reverse, vertical filing folds but fine and an an interesting entire demonstrating the difference between forwarded mail, charged at 1d.
