1847 (2 June) entire letter from New Orleans via New York to Warwick, Bermuda, showing New York c.d.s , unframed "paid" and handstruck "10", all in blue and, on reverse across join, oval-framed "forwarded/by/middleton & co/new york" fac in red, the odd minor fault to face panel; 1852 (22 Jan.) entire letter per "Bark Eliza Bars" via New York to New Haven Conn. and showing fine "new york/ship/7 cts" datestamp (2c. ship rate + 5c. internal postage) and accompanied by an 1867 Bill of Lading for a trip from New York to Bermuda; and 1860 (24 June) entire letter from Bermuda to Baltimore, marked "E Bars" and showing "new-york ship letter" c.d.s.
